40 years after the terrifying events of Stephen King’s The Shining. Struggling with alcoholism, Dan Torrance remains traumatized by the sinister events that occurred at the Overlook Hotel when he was a child. His hope for a peaceful existence soon becomes shattered when he meets Abra, a teen who shares his extrasensory gift of the "shine." Together, they form an unlikely alliance to battle the True Knot, a cult whose members try to feed off the shine of innocents to become immortal.
Review : 🍿🍿🍿🍿 Ka is a wheel, and it was lovely to spend time in King’s world again. I didn’t find this spooky in the slightest, which was surprising - more ‘Ooh! I remember that ghost!’ in a warm hearted way. I thought Kyliegh Curran did a fantastic job as Abra & Ewan McGregor a solid performance as an adult Danny. One of the better book-to-screen King adaptations I’ve seen. I don’t know if it was the four glasses of wine I drank while watching this sequel - but I also got a little teary at the end.
